20 years

As the world remembers the event that changed the face and texture of the United States five years ago on Sept. 11, 2001, many of the faces of that day—Bush, Guiliani, Rumsfeld—are still center stage. Crowding them for space in the limelight are the anonymous faces of dissent that want to be seen and heard. Those voices would have us believe that Muslim extremists—who have openly bragged about their deeds—were not responsible for the tragedy of that day.

The voices of dissent among us would have us believe that either the Israelis, to trick the American people into entering their war against the Palestinians and the Arabs—or the Bush Administration, in order to get revenge on Saddam for the Iraqi attempt to assassinate Bush-41—engineered 9-11 and blamed it on Muslims. Yet, al Qaeda itself recently released a video of the jihadic testimonies of the 9-11 skyjackers that was shot only days before 19 Muslim extremists hijacked four American Airlines and United Airlines airliners on that fateful day.

The voices of dissent have even suggested that no skyjacking took place. They claim that it was missiles and not a jet airliner that struck the Pentagon. The voices of dissent also claim that the Twin Towers were brought down by guided missiles fired from somewhere in New Jersey, aided by bombs planted at strategic points in the Twin Towers. The extremists of the far right whose views were colored by the antiwar extremists of the far left need to reexamine their political positions through the eyes of reality and not the conspiracies that feed their existence.

Here is the simple, unvarnished reality. The United States and the industrialized democracies of the world are fighting what can only be described as World War III. But unlike the two previous world wars we fought, this particular enemy of liberty and religious freedom is not a nation or a group of nations. It is a radical theological movement fostered by Islamofascists who are determined to subdue the world through Islam by conversion or conquest. The "generals" of this global enemy of freedom are not military leaders. Nor are they political dictators. They are extremist Islamic Wahabbi clerics with more power than any third world dictator. While we mentally identify the Wahabbi extremists as Arabs, only 18% of the world's Muslims are Arabic. Twenty percent of them are sub-Saharan Africans and 30% are from South Asia—Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, or they could be Filipino or even Chinese. The remaining 32% are European, Slavic, or they are western hemispheric "Americans." Islam is now the world's second largest religion. Millions of the 1.2 billion moderate Muslims—about 15% to 20% of them—adhere to the Islamofascist view of Wahabbism.

Sadly, the world will not long remember the reason we are fighting in the Mideast because the world wants to forget. And, the conspiracy fringe of both the right and the left are determined to change the identity of the guilty in order to change the identity of the victims and the motive of the tragedy. And because our politically-correct system of governance increasingly strives to protect the guilty at the expense of the innocent, and because the bureaucracy fears groups like the American Civil Liberties Union, the Transportation Security Administration, which guards our airports, will continue to "board" those who fit what we know to be the physical description of a terrorist as they continue to harass blue-haired grandmothers, terrorism will continue. And because the bureaucracy believes adding new taxpayers to the tax rolls is more important than securing our borders, terrorism will remain a threat. And because our government has left the backdoor swinging freely for terrorists to enter our country at will, that threat will remain imminent. And using the Smart Corridor access that is currently ferrying Chinese goods—imported tariff-free through Mexico—terrorists can safely bring radiological debris for dirty bombs from Mexico to any city in America with minimal fear of detection along the trade corridor network, that threat can strike anywhere in this country, at any time. No city in this nation is insulated; no citizen in this nation is immune from being its next victim.

The Bible tells us that, in the end, the Islamofascists will win. "After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes...and one of the elders... [asked]... 'What are these which are arrayed in white robes, and whence they came they?' And, I said to him, 'Sir, thou knowest.' And he said, 'These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.'" [Rev. 7:9-14, paraphrased] These were those who were beheaded for their testimony to Jesus Christ in the last days, and who did not receive the mark of the beast. [Rev. 20:4] In the world today only the Muslim states use decapitation as the preferred method of execution for those accused and condemned of crimes against Islam and against the State.
